Hello, I'd like to go into nursing, but I'm terribly afraid of the bullying that might occur during nursing school, when starting out, on the job, etc. Why are nurses so mean? How did you deal with bullying? I ask because if I go and get bullied, I'm the type to snap at people and put them in their place.

Nobody should be working unpaid. Looking up patients before you are clocked in is work and is technically a HIPPA violation. I used to do this too until someone in my company got fired for it. It was a huge eye opening moment for me. You should be able to do your work while you are getting paid for it. If it is not possible, than changes need to be made. Yes I arrive ten minutes early so I can put my stuff away, grab my tools out of my locker, write down my assignment, and look up who I'm getting report from. That's it. Looking up patient info is work, doing it off the clock is working unpaid which is a HIPPA violation and labor law violation.

I am sorry you were not successful the first time. I took the ANCC FNP over 7 years ago and passed the first time. I felt sick the entire time! I went to the bathroom like three times during the test. I did the Leik live review and listened to Hollier and Fitzgerald. I finished the test and thought it would show the results, the computer just shut off!! I freaked. I went out to see how I find out how I did. The lady at the desk printed something used a stamp of some type and said congratulations. That's when I found out, I passed. I almost fell to the floor. It is the most stressful thing I think I have ever been through. Congrats on passing. I know how hard that was! ETA I think they give the results in the resting room because others are taking tests and the risk of the noise if the test taker is successful or unsuccessful. I thought it was interesting they did not have a number 13!

I view the biopsy as invasive-- if the patient has Jaw problems, sore neck, vision issues, and even hardness over the temporal artery all developing at roughly the same time steroids should be prescribed immediately as a prophylactic-- I don’t see where this condition mimics another condition,, it’s has a fairly singular display so I don’t see the need for the invasive surgery.

As a hospice nurse who travels to some of the most dangerous parts of Northern, CA (especially San Jose and Oakland), I carry pepper spray and a child's number 2 pencil (the big one while sharpened and covered with a highlighter's cap so I don't poke myself) because I feel the need to protect myself at times. I sometimes carry a small knife if my scrubs have enough pockets. Otherwise, I have a knife in my car anyways in case I need to use a blade.

I do feel abit lost and confused to where I should begin, yet again. I used the Leik and Cohen review. I can honestly said, similar to you, I should have spent more time to review. I studies for a total of 2.5 months. I went through most of Leik, sat through all of the Cohen review lectures and and did the majority of the exam questions that came in the book and the online with the book. I am wanting to switch gears to take the ANCC exam ... what do you think? I am too an a horrible test taker. I am so incredible disappointed in myself but at the same time angry that i did not pass it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated CONGRATS by the way!! You mentioned you did all the practice questions for the courses you purchased. did you score well on these practice tests second time around, Did you pay attention to your scores on the courses or did you focus more on rationale. some souces say that the scores you get on these full length practice tests are predictors. I am trying not to get discouraged with low scores on some due to fact i test soon and just make sure i read all rationales on the questions that i do. wondering if thats the best approach. thanks for video and congrats
